Framework First is a family owned and operated, general construction company specializing in ADUs, Accessory Dwelling Units. After picking up hammers and putting down drills for a few decades, we’ve focused on what we believe is the future of housing: accessory dwelling units (ADUs.)

We’ve created conveyor-belt like construction in our ADU factory, with each step procedure occurring immediately after the other. Resulting in more affordable and quicker construction than ever before – no noise, delay or management!

Our factory-built accessory dwelling unit (ADU) offers homeowners the ability to create an additional living space for housing a loved one, generate rental income, and increase the value of your property. Get all the information you need with a quick phone call!

About our Process:

1. Phone Call
   First, let’s discuss your plans and ideas for your accessory dwelling unit and get you as much information as we can on your property.
   Before we start any paperwork, you can have a better idea of what you’re getting into and if we’re a right fit for you.
2. Site Visit
   Now that we’ve gotten familiar with each other with a quick phone call, our next step is a site visit.
   We’ve seen numerous properties over the years, and some will  require specific requirements. We also need to assess the surrounding obstacles for delivery to determine a means of installation. (Ex. powerlines & narrow bridges are trouble.) NOTE: Site visits are at no charge to you.
3. Feasibility Study:
   Now, we do a deep dive into your property and discover every requirement and restriction related to your properties location, city and county.
   If we’re unable to deliver you an ADU or your property is not capable of having one, we will refund 100% of the cost of your feasibility study. No questions or complications – if we can’t help, we don’t expect you to pay.
4. Discoveries & Decisions:
   This is the big reveal! Now, we know whether or not your property qualifies to have an ADU. Next, you must decide on the style of your new home. What’s possible for you and your property? After finding the right choice for you, it’s time to begin the building process!
5. Permit Process:
   The style and model has been chosen and submission to the city has begun. We’ll begin the building in our ADU factory, but we can’t touch your property until the city gives us a thumbs up! Why is this so important? A common misconception with an ADU is the living aspect. It’s illegal to live in a shed, garage or any other backyard structure that hasn’t gone through the permit process to become an ADU. (“That’s why those eBay and Home Depot homes are the price they are… it’s a plywood shed advertised as a home.”)
6. Building your New Home:
   We’re all set! Building should take approximately three months (likely a lot sooner) until we’re ready for transport! Until then, sit tight and stay up to date with your delivery using Status: an ADU tracker.

7. Crane Carry and Installation:
   The big day is here! Your new accessory dwelling unit is in transit and you’ll be receiving SMS reminders and updates for when it will arrive. We will have the Framework First ADU team ready and preparing for touchdown. We’ll give you a list of precautions to follow in advance. We will spend the next few days in your backyard for installation, and you’ll be good to go!
