Meet the Business Owner
Kevin Casey founded New Avenue in 2009 and currently lives in Berkeley, CA with his wife and two sons. He grew up in a Sears Catalog home outside of Buffalo, NY. and moved to California after skiing for a season at Squaw Valley in 1999 and realized that something big was happening in San Francisco. He comes from five generations of engineers and builders. Casey studied economic and community development at Fordham University, International Affairs at The Columbia School of International and Public Affairs, obtained an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and studied small business development in Southeast Asia as a Fulbright Scholar. Casey founded New Avenue as a project management, architecture, and construction platform with the goal of making it possible for homeowners to create additional options for how owners can work at, live in and share their homes. Over 20,000 owners and 1,500 architects and builders have managed over $100 million in custom residential projects
About Us
New Avenue’s housing development platform combines technology, analytics, design, and local designers and builders to build complexes that create a better quality of life. We combine an in-house design team with local professionals to provide personalized design and construction services for residential projects that re-invent homes as complexes of two three or more homes.
Our process is rooted in transparent cost and scheduling data from decades of experience, while our personal expertise allows us to customize the experience for each client. Your dedicated team will guide you along a journey of discovery where our designers and builders collaborate to create a home that is inspiring, welcoming, and a wonderful place to live.
We are the only truly open platform that marries our own technology for managing the design/build process, a proven in-house team that can provide custom design, and the flexibility for you to work with any designer or builder you may want to add to your team.
Each client starts by scheduling a call with a member of our team. This call gives you an opportunity to share your goals and ideas. This is also a chance to ask our experts questions about your project. We review the biggest database of completed projects and share accurate timelines and costs! We believe you won’t get better info anywhere else!
Our team meets you at your property. A perfect first meeting is us listening and taking notes for an hour. After the meeting, we provide a proposal for a project we know we’d be proud of, we know we can deliver on budget, and we believe you will be very happy with. But nothing has been designed yet – so we have a design process to start before we can get to a fixed price bid.
We’ve learned that this is what you want, and to do it right, we complete diligent permit research and then spend time working on three iterations for your idea. We collaborate with you to create the initial drawings of a plan that you will be excited to build.
